Tough challenges

      My heart is breaking as I write this.  I think of my sweet little girl and the struggles we have ahead of us.  Last week we took her to the dr. because she was not feeling very well and she had some blood tests done.  Doc called me this morning with the results.  Not terrible but not great.  Her feretin is still low at 25 but up from the 19 a few a months ago.  Her calcium is still low and she is slightly dehydrated.  But over this weekend she has not been eating very much.  3/4 of a sandwich instead of a whole, half the pizza instead of all.  When we took her in she had lost 2 pounds since her last visit.  Her rashes are bothering her more when she is avoiding most of the allergies.  When I researched her BMI for this last appt. she was at 13.6% which is not even at 3%.  Last time she was at 14.5%.     After talking to the doc the final comment was that she was going to do some research to find a place we could take her for inpatient care.  My heart aches so strongly and the tea

C-bugs Story

Were does one begin when telling a story that doen't have the best end results.  I guess the beginning is the best place.  In September of 1999 I went to the dr. for my 12 week checkup and was devestated to learn I had miscarried a baby, so I had a d&c and the dr. told us we could try again as soon as we wanted.  So the middle of Oct. we found out we were pregnant again.  Because I had a blood clot with my first one I had to take Heprin shots twice a day so that meant to follow up with the dr as soon as possible.  So I made my apptment for 8 weeks which was the mon after thanksgiving.  So the weds before thanksgiving we were headed to lunch when I looked down and saw I was covered in blood.  Having had a miscarraige 2 months before I freaked out and rushed to the er.  After several test and exams they told us the fetus did not match up to the expected date and to go home and wait to miscaraaige this baby.  So devasted we headed home to wait for the weekend to pass so I could se

New Struggles

So last week my husband and I visited with the counselor concerning c-bugs eating issues.  It is such an emotional and intensive issue.  I try to take each problem on their own, but the overall effect affects her emotionally and physically.  Our concern is that she is so texture sensitive to food and then to find her allergies it make it hard to have her eat properly.  She is tall for her age but very skinny.  She is just over 5' and weighs barely 70 lbs.  Our concern is that over the last 11 years her issue has been texture/sensory with food.  Now our concern is leading to the fact that because she doesn't eat it is becoming a lifelong habit.  Our next big step would be to take her to an eating disorder clinic.  It breaks my heart to even think about throwing that in to the equation.  She has come to like being skinny and finds she likes the look, so when does it click that not eating will keep her that skinny.  When doing her BMI she is 13.4 which is very low.  We visit with
